It’s often a mixture of frustration and bemusement that I experience when people arrive at a game reserve in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and pronounce it “not the real bush” The stereotypical Lowveld region is what people have in mind where game reserves have been in long existence.
The Eastern Cape has a lot to offer. The first thing that springs to mind is the beautiful vegetation.
There are many areas of thick vegetation, but sooner or later all venture into the open plains.
My recent move back to the Eastern Cape has made me realise what a special place this is and why people keep coming back for more.
